Wembley Park - More Than Just Football

Forget what you think you know about Wembley. Yeah, the football's still here, but there's a lot more going on. Wembley Park's turning into a proper place to live, and here's why:

It's Got the Lot

Wembley Park's gone from 'stadium with some stuff around it' to 'place you'd actually want to live'. New flats, shops, offices - the works. It's like someone's hit the fast-forward button on a whole neighbourhood.

The change is huge. Where there used to be big car parks and old buildings, now you'll find a busy, modern community. The skyline is full of fancy apartment buildings, each with great views of the famous Wembley Stadium arch or the London city skyline.

Look at Quintain's new buildings, for example. They've been leading this change, building thousands of new homes from small studios to big family flats. These aren't just any old flats - they're really nice, with shared lounges, and some even have private cinemas.

But it's not just about the homes. The London Designer Outlet has brought big shops to the area, with year-round sales that keep locals and visitors coming back. And don't forget Boxpark Wembley, a bunch of shipping containers turned into a cool spot for food, drinks, and events.

Work Where You Live

More and more people are choosing to both live and work in Wembley Park. Why? Because they can. The area is bringing in businesses, from new startups to big companies, creating local jobs. And with great transport links to central London, it's easy to get to work if your job's somewhere else.

Wembley Park's becoming a bit of a tech hub, with companies like Quintain and Network Homes setting up here. There are also lots of shared office spaces, great for freelancers or small businesses who want flexible work spots.

But it's not just about office jobs. All the building work in the area means there are lots of construction and shop jobs too. And with Wembley Stadium and the SSE Arena right there, there are always jobs in events and hospitality.

Getting around is easy. Wembley Park station has both the Jubilee and Metropolitan lines, getting you to Baker Street in just 12 minutes. If you're going to the City, you can be at Liverpool Street in under half an hour. There's also Wembley Central for the Bakerloo line and London Overground, and lots of bus routes all over the area.

The Hive

Plenty of Green

Even with all the new buildings, Wembley Park hasn't forgotten about parks and green spaces. Union Park is a beautiful area perfect for picnics, jogging, or just relaxing with a book. There are also smaller green spots all over the neighbourhood, giving people plenty of chances to enjoy nature.

Union Park is the best of Wembley Park's green spaces. This big 7-acre park has winding paths, water features, and lots of places to sit. It's great for a morning run or an afternoon picnic.

But it's not just Union Park. The Olympic Way, also called Wembley Way, has changed from a concrete path into a nice tree-lined street. And don't forget about Elvin Gardens, a smaller but just as nice green space that's perfect for a quick lunchtime break.

If you like your green spaces a bit more natural, the Welsh Harp Reservoir is just a short trip away. This protected natural area is great for wildlife and a nice spot for a weekend walk.

Wembley Stadium

A Foodie's Paradise

You won't go hungry in Wembley Park. From grabbing a quick bite at Boxpark to sitting down for a proper pub meal at The White Horse, you're sorted. And let's not forget the regular farmers' markets, bringing fresh, local produce right to your doorstep.

Boxpark Wembley is amazing for food lovers. With over 20 food stalls, you can eat food from all over the world without leaving Wembley. Want some Thai? Go to Spice Shack. Fancy Italian? Pasta Remoli is great. And for dessert, try a bubble waffle from Nosteagia.

And we can't talk about food in Wembley without mentioning the farmers' market. It happens regularly and is a great place to buy fresh veg, homemade bread, and local honey. It's not just about shopping though - it's become a real community event, with locals catching up over coffee and street food.

Culture? Check.

Living in Wembley Park means having lots of entertainment options. The SSE Arena hosts big music acts, while the Troubadour Wembley Park Theatre top-quality shows to the neighbourhood.

The SSE Arena, once called Wembley Arena, has been a big part of London's music scene for years. From The Beatles to Beyoncé, it's had some of the biggest names in music. And it's not just concerts - you can see comedy shows, sports events, and even video game tournaments here.

But culture in Wembley Park isn't just about big venues. The area has lots of street art, with paintings by local and international artists on buildings throughout the neighbourhood. Look out for the Olympic Way art benches - each one is a unique piece of art you can sit on.

Wembley Stadium

Room to Grow

The best bit? Wembley Park's not done yet. There are more homes, shops, and parks in the pipeline. It's a work in progress, but in a good way.

Quintain, the main company behind Wembley Park's changes, has big plans for the future. By 2027, they want to have built 8,500 new homes, making Wembley Park the largest rental development site in the UK.

But it's not just about housing. There are plans for more office spaces, shops, and community buildings. The goal is to create a neighbourhood where everything you need is within walking distance.

One exciting project in the works is 'The W', a new big shopping and leisure development next to Wembley Stadium. This will bring even more shops, restaurants, and fun things to do to the area.

So yeah, Wembley's not just about 90 minutes of football anymore. It's turning into a proper London neighbourhood - one where you can live, work, and play without having to trek halfway across the city. Why not come and see for yourself? You might be surprised at what you find. Who knows, you might even end up staying.
